Troop I - NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release March 18, 2012 Unrestrained Driver Dies in Crash Vermilion Parish- This morning, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash on LA Highway 338 near Ranch Road which claimed the life of a Delcambre man. According to investigating troopers, on March 18, 2012, at 3:09 a.m., 25-year-old Kevin Reynolds of Delcambre, was driving a 1997 Lexus passenger car west on LA Highway 338 approaching a left curve. For unknown reasons, Reynolds failed to negotiate the turn and drove off the right side of the roadway. Reynolds' vehicle struck a culvert and subsequently overturned. Reynolds, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result of his injuries. He was pronounced dead by the Vermilion Parish Coroner. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Law requires all occupants of motor vehicles to wear their seatbelt. While wearing a seatbelt will not save you in every crash it will greatly reduce your risk of injury in most crashes. For More Information Contact: | |||
