Troop I - NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release October 16, 2012 Emergency Responders to Conduct Mock Train Crash in Iberia Parish NEW IBERIA- On Thursday, October 18, 2012, Louisiana State Police Troop I will partner with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Iberia Parish Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance, Louisiana Operation Lifesaver and Louisiana and Delta Railroad to conduct a mock train crash in Iberia Parish. Louisiana and Delta railroad will provide a train with six to eight freight and passenger cars which will be involved in a staged crash. This event will take place at the Louisiana and Delta maintenance yard located at 204B St. Mary Street in New Iberia. People who live in the area can expect to see emergency workers responding to the area at about 10 a.m. There will be no hazards or risks to the community from this training exercise.
