Edmonson, Superintendent Vermilion Parish Crash Claims Life Of Erath Man August 2, 2008 Louisiana State Police – Troop I is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on La 14 west of Erath, within Vermilion Parish. The Crash occurred shortly before 8:00am on August 2, 2008, when eighty-four year old Milton Touchet of Erath, La, was operating a 1991 Buick Century, north on La 14 (Business route) on the west side of Erath. Twenty-two year old Ashley Vice of Abbeville, La, was operating a 2007 GMC Denali east on La 14. Touchet failed to yield from a stop sign, when his vehicle was struck broadside by the GMC Denali. Mr. Touchet was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries sustained in the crash. Vice was treated for minor to moderate injuries. Alcohol/Drugs are not suspected in this crash.
