Edmonson, Superintendent Unrestrained Driver Dies In St. Landry Parish Crash August 21, 2008 Louisiana State Police - Troop I is currently investigating a single vehicle fatality crash, which occurred on La 10 east of Nuba, shortly before 8:00 pm this evening. Twenty-nine year old Torre Joseph, of Opelousas, La, was operating a 2002 Ford Expedition east on La 10 from Nuba headed toward Washington, La. For unknown reasons, the vehicle ran off the road to the right and traveled through the ditch. The vehicle exited the ditch and struck a telephone pole, re-entered the ditch and struck the embankment. The vehicle overturned and Joseph was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role in this crash. This is the forty-third fatal crash and the forty-seventh fatality that Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
