Louisiana State Police – Troop I is currently investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on La 93 at L723 within Lafayette Parish.

Forty-six year old Douglas Baudoin, of Abbeville, La, was operating a 2006 Toyota Pick-up eastbound on LA 723 at LA 93. Sixty-three year old James Daigle, of Church Point, La was operating a 1998 Volvo tractor/trailer southbound on LA 93 approaching LA 723. Baudoin failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection and proceeded to make a left turn onto LA 93 in front of the Volvo truck. After impact, both vehicles came to rest in the intersection.

It is currently unknown if Baudoin was impaired at the time of the crash.

This is the twenty-nineth fatal crash and the thirty- third fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008.
