One Person

June 27, 2008

Louisiana State Police – Troop I is currently investigating a one vehicle fatal crash on La 100, west of Crowley, within Acadia Parish.

Thirty – six year old Jared Regan, of Egan, La was operating a 1996 Mercury Mystic westbound on La 100. Regan passed another westbound vehicle and as he began to re-enter the westbound travel lane, he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle slid sideways off the roadway, and entered the north side ditch. The vehicle struck a tree then came to a rest. The Acadia Parish Deputy Coroner pronounced Mr. Regan dead at the scene.

Mr. Regan was the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Mr. Regan was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is suspected in the crash.

This is the twenty-ninth fatal crash and the thirty- third fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008.
