Edmonson, Superintendent St. Martin Parish Impaired Driver Checkpoint Results June 28, 2008 On June 27, 2008, Louisiana State Police - Troop I, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. Martinville City Police Department conducted an Impaired Driver Checkpoint. The checkpoint took place on La 31 near La 353 within St. Martin Parish, from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. and as a result the following citations and arrest were made: 18- Field Sobriety Test Conducted 6- Chemical Test 3 – DWI Arrest 2 – Headlight Violations 1 – Open Alcohol Container 1 – Littering Citation 1 – Altered MVI Sticker Violation This checkpoint is part of an ongoing cooperative effort with local police agencies to rid our roadways of impaired drivers. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
