Troopers Locate $35,000
In Pills

On June 29, 2008, Louisiana State Police-Troop I, Criminal Patrol Units stopped a Grey Pontiac bearing a Tennessee license plate for a moving violation, on Interstate 10 near mile post 110 withinin St. Martin Parish. Troopers identified the driver as Cedric Reddick and the passenger as Deangelo Stewart, both from Memphis, Tennessee. Reddick had his minor child in the vehicle at the time of the stop. Troopers conducted a roadside interview with Reddick. Troopers requested written consent to search the vehicle, which Reddick signed. Troopers searched the vehicle and located three bags containing 3,448 Hydrocodone pills. Troopers arrested and transported Reddick and Stewart to the West District Narcotics Office in Lafayette office for further investigation.

Agents conducted an interview and learned that Reddick and Stewart traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, to Houston, Texas where they acquire the pills. Reddick and Stewart were then transported to the St. Martin Jail, booked for Possession with Intent to Distribute Hydrocodone and Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor. Child Services was contacted and took custody of the two-year-old child that was in the vehicle.
