| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Motorcyclist Killed In Afternoon Crash January 2, 2009 Louisiana State Police – Troop I is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on NE Frontage Road north of Carencro within St. Landry Parish. The crash occurred shortly after 5:00 pm this afternoon, when forty-seven year old Anthony Sanders of Beeville, TX, was operating his 2005 Harley Davidson northbound on the NE Frontage Road. Forty-five year old Tammy Guidry of Carencro, La, was operating a 2002 Jeep southbound on NE Frontage Road. Guidry attempted to make a left turn into a private drive and the motorcyclist struck the side of the vehicle. Sanders was airlifted to Lafayette General Medical Center where he died as a result of the injuries he received in the crash. Guidry was not injured and charges are pending. It is unknown at this time if Alcohol/Drugs are a contributing factor in this crash. This is the first fatal crash and the first fatality of 2009. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
