| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Vermilion Parish Crash Kills Arnaudville Man November 1, 2008 Louisiana State Police – Troop I is currently investigating a fatal crash involving a pick-up truck and three motorcycles, on LA 14 @ Springhill Road west of Abbeville, La, within Vermilion Parish. The crash occurred around 12:15 pm this afternoon, when sixty-two year old Stephen Barber of Arnaudville, La, was traveling east on La 14 operating a motorcycle, behind a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck was being driven by, fifty-two year old Philip Siragusa of Lafayette, La. Siragusa began to slow down for traffic in front of him. For unknown reasons, Barber failed to slow down and struck the rear of the truck. Barber was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into the oncoming westbound travel lane of La 14. Two other westbound motorcycles, then struck Barber, fatally injuring him. The two other motorcycle operators, sixty-one year old Robert Guidry, of Midland, La, and fifty-nine year old Lenard Dequeant, of Elton, La, sustained minor to moderate injuries. Siragusa was not injured in the crash. Alcohol and Drugs are not suspected in this crash however, test results are pending at the LSP crime lab. This is the fifty-sixth fatality crash and the sixty-second fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
