Edmonson, Superintendent St. Mary Parish Pedestrian Killed on US 90 November 2, 2008 Louisiana State Police – Troop I is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash on US 90 near Amelia, within St. Mary Parish. The crash occurred around 12:30 am this morning, when thirty-five year old Brent Doiron of Amelia, La, was traveling eastbound on US 90 in the right lane of travel. Twenty-eight year old Laketha Jones of Patterson, La, was a pedestrian standing in the eastbound right travel lane of US 90. The vehicle that Doiron was driving, struck Laketha. Laketha came to rest on the grassy, E/B shoulder of US 90 approximately 100 feet from the area of impact. Doiron then moved his vehicle to the E/B shoulder of US 90 east of the crash scene. Laketha was pronounced deceased at the scene. Doiron was charged with DWI 1st Offense and was not injured in the crash. This is the fifty-seventh fatal crash and the sixty-third fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2008. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
