June 24, 2008

June 24, 2008, Louisiana State Police - Troop I, conducted a Safety Checkpoint on La 94 within St. Martin Parish. The checkpoint took place from 6:30 am to 9:30 am. Troopers were aggressively looking for vehicles that were not insured and those vehicles were removed from the roadway. Troopers also found numerous other violations during the checkpoint. A total of 72 violations were observed by troopers.

4 - Window tint Violations

1 - Seat Belt Violations

2 - Child restraint Violations

1 - Arrest by Warrant

2 - Medical Card Violations

18 - Equipment Violations

4 - Vehicles towed and 3 Commercial Vehicles Placed out of Service

These checkpoints are not to generate citations. Louisiana State Police are more concerned with motorist voluntarily complying with the Louisiana State Laws. The checkpoints will help to insure that you and your families are safe on Acadiana roadways.
