| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Impaired Driving Arrest are Up and Crashes are Down February 22, 2008 Louisiana State Police –Troop I has conducted several enforcement details and safety checkpoints in 2008. Troop I has also created a DWI Task Force to combat the impaired driving problem within the area. Thus far in 2008, troopers have arrested 220 impaired drivers and nearly 50 of these arrests have been made by the DWI Task Force in one month. The DWI Task Force has also made several criminal arrest and narcotic arrest. The mere fact that Troop I has been conducting the enforcement details and safety checkpoints has caused the number of crashes to go down nearly 15%.
