| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Troopers Coming Down Hard on Impaired Drivers March 10, 2008 Louisiana State Police – Troop I have come down hard on Impaired Drivers and Drug Traffickers. Within the last week state troopers have arrested sixty six impaired drivers and have taken nearly two million dollars in illegal narcotics off of the roadway. Troop I has investigated as few as eight fatal crashes thus far in 2008. By March of 2007, Troop I had already investigated as many as thirteen fatal crashes. The decrease in the number of fatalities and crashes are directly related to the Pro-Active enforcement being conducted by troopers at Safety Checkpoints, Impaired Driver Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols and normal patrol enforcement. Louisiana State Police will continue their efforts to make the roadway a safer place for you and your family. The bottom line is, if you are stopped by a Louisiana State Trooper while driving impaired “There will be Zero Tolerance, No warnings, No Excuses, You will be arrested” “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment! Drive Impaired Get Arrested" & "Remember, Seatbelts Aren't as Confining as a Wheel Chair or a Casket" DON'T FORGET TO VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.LSP.ORG For More Information, Contact: Tfc David Anderson Louisiana State Police Troop I Public Affairs Office: 337-262-1917 www.lsp.org ____________________________________________________________ | |||
