| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Acadia Parish Crash Kills Bicyclist February 11, 2008 February 8, 2008, at 6:25 p.m., Louisiana State Police investigated a fatal crash on La 368 near Tepetate Rd. within Acadia Parish. Sixty year old Wade Bergeron of Eunice, La was riding his bicycle west on La 368, in the center of the westbound travel lane. Twenty one year old Mitchell Love of Eunice, was operating a 2007 Nissan Altima also traveling westbound, approaching the bicyclist from behind. Love attempted to overtake the bicyclist by passing in the eastbound travel lane. For unknown reasons the bicyclist turned into the path of the vehicle. The vehicle struck the bicyclist killing the driver of the bicycle, and the vehicle continued traveling off the roadway into a canal. The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the bicycle Wade Bergeron was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
