| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Vermilion Parish Critical May 3, 2008Crash At Approximately 4:25 am this morning, Louisiana State Police – Troop I, investigated a single vehicle crash on La 82 near the Woodlawn Bridge. Preliminary investigations indicates that fifty four year old Carla Callais of Youngsville, La, was traveling north on La 82 approaching a stop sign at its intersection with La 1246. Callais disregarded the stop sign and continued straight across the intersection onto Tommy Road. The vehicle traveled a short distance on Tommy Road, before traveling off the east side of the roadway. The vehicle traveled across a ditch and struck a tree. Callais was restrained at the time of the crash and was transported to a local hospital with severe head injuries. Callais has been charged with Disobeying a Stop Sign and DWI 1st offense.
