| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Lafayette Parish Checkpoint Results March 19, 2008 March 19, 2008, Louisiana State Police - Troop I, conducted a Safety Checkpoint from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, on US 90, near milepost 98 within Lafayette Parish. Troopers were looking for vehicles that were not insured and those vehicles were removed from the roadway. Troopers also found numerous other violations. The following violations were observed by troopers. 6- Notice of Insurance Violations 6- License Plates Seized 1- Seat belt Violation 1- Vehicle Registration Violations 14- Window Tint Violations 19- Expired MVI Violations 11 - Violation Notices 3- Driver’s License Violations 1 – Child Restraint Violation These checkpoints are not to generate citations. Louisiana State Police are more concerned with motorist voluntary complying with the Louisiana State Laws.
