Impaired Driver Checkpoint
Results

March 21, 2008

March 20, 2008, Louisiana State Police - Troop I, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette City Police Department and Lafayette City Marshal’s Office conducted an Impaired Driver Checkpoint. The checkpoint took place on US 167 east bound, within Lafayette Parish, from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. Approximately 690 vehicles were screened in the checkpoint and a total of 29 citations were issued and are as follows:

16 – DWI Arrest
21 – Chemical Test Administered
46 – Field Sobriety Test Administered
1 - Operating a Vehicle without Lawful Presence in the United States
1 – Possession of Marijuana Arrest
1 – Narcotic Warrant Arrest
1 – Simple Escape Arrest
1 – Arrest for Interfering with the Duties of a State Trooper
1 – Disturbing the Peace Arrest
1 – Expired MVI Sticker Violation
1- No Headlight Violation
3 – Open Alcohol Container Violations
2 – Driver’s License Violations

This checkpoint is part of an ongoing effort to rid our roadways of impaired drivers.
