| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Single Vehicle Crash Leaves One Man Dead March 23, 2008 At 6:37 pm this evening Louisiana State Police - Troop I responded to a single vehicle crash on LA 89 near Raven Road within Iberia Parish. Upon arrival, troopers found the single vehicle crash had claimed the life of one person and sent a nineteen year old passenger to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Twenty six year old Somphou Chansrymoung of Broussard, La, was operating a late model Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, southbound on LA 89, near Raven Road. The vehicle traveled off of the roadway to the right and traveled onto the west shoulder. Chansrymoung over steered to the left which caused the SUV to travel across both lanes of LA 89. The SUV traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch embankment. The SUV overturned and ejected both the unrestrained driver and passenger. Chansrymoung was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle Anthony Soukaroua, sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported to Dauterive Hospital.
