| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release New Iberia Woman Killed on US 90 April 19, 2008 On April 18, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop I investigated a three vehicle fatal crash on US 90 at Freetown Road within Iberia Parish. Fifty year old Wanda Minor of New Iberia, La, was operating a 1999 Ford Expedition SUV, northbound on Freetown Road approaching US 90. Seventeen year Alivia Derouen of New Iberia, La, was operating a 2005 Nissan Altima eastbound on US 90 approaching Freetown Road. Minor failed to yield from a stop sign, while attempting to cross the eastbound travel lanes of US 90 and was struck by the Derouen vehicle. Minor was not restrained and was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest in the westbound travel lanes on US 90. Minor was then struck by a westbound 2006 Honda Accord, driven by fifty year old Christopher Ritter of Franklin, La. Two passengers in the Minor vehicle were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries. Alivia Derouen and a passenger in her vehicle were also transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Christopher Ritter was not injured in the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in this crash. Wanda Minor was the only person in this crash s not properly restrained. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
