Troop I is investigating yet another deadly head on collision that leaves three Franklin, La residents dead.
Troop I is investigating the second deadly head on collision this weekend. The latest fatal crash happened this morning shortly before 10:00 am. Thirty-nine year old Todd Vincent of Erath, La, was operating his 2004 Ford truck south on LA 318 as he approached a right curve in the roadway. Forty-one year old Priscilla Williams of Franklin, La, was operating a Ford Taurus Station Wagon north on LA 318, when Vincent drove into the direct path of the Williams vehicle. Williams took evasive action in attempted to avoid the collision however; was struck head on by the Ford truck. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway. Vincent was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries and was charged with Driving Left of Center and Operating a Vehicle with an Invalid Drivers License. Williams, her fifteen-year-old son and fifty-one year Leroy Williams of Franklin, La were pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol/Drugs are not suspected however; test results are pending at the LSP Crime Lab.
This is the third fatal crash this weekend resulting in six people dead. Troop I has investigated five fatal crashes thus far in 2009 resulting in eight deaths.
