Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release March 21, 2010 Eunice Man Killed in Crash Yesterday, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle crash on US 190 at LA 95 that claimed the life of a Eunice man. According to investigating troopers, on March 20, 2010, at 4:22 p.m., sixty-two year old Wilbert Guillory was traveling south on LA 758 approaching US 190 on a Huffy bicycle. Sixty-nine year old Michael Broussard of Lafayette, LA, was driving westbound on US 190 approaching LA 758 in a 2005 Kia. Guillory failed to yield at the intersection, and drove within hazardous proximity to Broussard’s vehicle. Broussard attempted to avoid the crash and entered the left lane of US 190. Guillory then struck Broussard’s vehicle. Guillory was transported from the scene to a local area hospital with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Broussard was not injured in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. The results are pending.
