In November 2009, troopers received information that fifty-eight year old Louis Seilhan, 101 Southern Ave. Apt. 20 Iota, LA, was in possession of child pornography. The information further indicated that his computer was being used to download and store images and video depicting child pornography. Troopers conducted a surveillance operation, as well as background checks on Seilhan. Based on the information gathered, a search warrant was obtained for the residence.

Early this morning troopers, assisted by Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, executed the search warrant at Seilhan’s residence. During an examination of his computers and electronic storage devices, troopers found over 100 video clips depicting children involved in a variety of sexual acts. Troopers also found over 100 images depicting child sexual acts.

After locating the images, troopers arrested Seilhan. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Correctional Center for Possession of Child Pornography. The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.

Troopers were assisted in their investigation by detectives with the Lafayette Police Department. Anyone with any information regarding the exploitation of children are asked to call 337-262-3341.
