| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Troop I Press Release August 15, 2010 Beaumont Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Crash Evangeline Parish- Early this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle crash on LA 1161 near Snooks Road that left a Beaumont, TX, man in critical condition. This afternoon the man succumbed to his injuries. According to investigating troopers, on August 15, 2010, at about 2:30 a.m., 30-year-old Kendrick Stocker of Beaumont, TX, was driving south on LA 1161 in a 1995 Chevrolet truck. Stocker failed to negotiate a left curve, entered a ditch, and the vehicle began to overturn. Stocker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. Stocker was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition. Toxicology samples were taken from Stocker and have been submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Troopers learned that shortly before 1:00 p.m. today, Stocker succumbed to his injuries while in the hospital. Troopers want to remind motorists that everyone in a vehicle must wear a seatbelt. Wearing your seatbelt will greatly reduce your risk of injury in most crashes. This crash remains under investigation. For More Information Contact: | |||
