St. Martin Parish Sobriety Checkpoint

On June 25, 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop I will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in St. Martin Parish. The checkpoint will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Troopers will be looking for impaired drivers and other violations.

Every year on the highways across the state of Louisiana, people are killed or seriously injured because of impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints are effective enforcement tools because they serve as a deterrent to impaired driving. Not allowing impaired drivers to get behind the wheel and reporting possible impaired drivers to local police stations can potentially save lives. To report dangerous drivers or hazardous roadway conditions, call *LSP or (*577) from your cell phone.
