Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP I- NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Date: January 13, 2010 30 Year Old Breaux Bridge Man Dies in Crash St. Martin Parish – On Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2:20 p.m., a single vehicle crash on LA. 347 in St. Martin Parish claimed the life of a 30 year old male of Breaux Bridge, LA. Guy Blanchard (W/M, 30 of Breaux Bridge, LA) was operating a 2007 Jeep southbound on LA.347 in Breaux Bridge, LA. when for unknown reasons, Blanchard drove off of the southbound lane into a ditch striking an embankment; at which time, the vehicle began to overturn several times, ejecting Blanchard who was unrestrained. Blanchard, who was not wearing a seat belt, received fatal injuries. Blanchard was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and Drug use is unknown; however, speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Blood results are pending from the St. Martin Parish Coroner’s Office. No charges filed. Troopers are still continuing their investigation. Contact Information: | |||
