| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Impaired Driver Checkpoint July 8, 2009 In an effort to reduce the amount of fatality and serious injury crashes, Louisiana State Police - Troop I in conjunction with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ville Platte Police Department and the Mamou Police Department will conduct an Impaired Driver Checkpoint within Evangeline Parish. The checkpoint will take place on Friday, July 10, 2009, between the hours of 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. All drivers that travel through the checkpoint will be screened for alcohol and drug impairment. Any driver that is impaired will be removed from the roadway. This checkpoint is part of the ongoing effort to rid our roadways of impaired drivers and to make the public aware of the dangers of driving while impaired. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
