Louisiana State Police – Troop I is investigating a one vehicle fatal crash within St. Landry Parish.

The fatal crash occurred at around 1230 pm today, on LA 105 just south of Melville, La. Twenty-five year-old Raven Johnston of Melville, La, was operating a 1996 Ford Truck, southbound on LA 105, when for unknown reasons traveled off the roadway. Johnston was unable regain control of the vehicle before the truck struck the ditch embankment and overturned. Johnston was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle.

This is the twenty- first fatal crash Troop I has investigated and the twenty-fifth fatality thus far in 2009.
