Edmonson, Superintendent State Police To Conduct Safety Checkpoint April 27, 2009 Louisiana State Police – Troop I will conduct a safety checkpoint on LA 14, within Vermilion Parish on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. The checkpoint will begin at 7:00 am and end at 10:00 am. Troopers will be looking for uninsured motorist and a number of other violations. These check points are conducted to insure the safety of all citizens who drive on public roadways. The Louisiana state law requires motorist to carry proof of insurance in the vehicle at all times, failure to do so can result in the license plate being seized and turn over to the Office of Motor Vehicle. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
