Edmonson, Superintendent St. Landry Parish Crash Claims One Life April 26, 2009 Troop I investigated a two-vehicle crash on US 190, which left a Eunice, La residents dead. Troop I responded to the crash on US 190 at LA 178 within St. Landry Parish at around 6:00pm yesterday evening. Eighty-one year old Yvonne Latiolais of Eunice, La was operating a 2005 Chevrolet van north on LA 178, when she failed to stop for a stop sign on LA 178 at its intersection with US 190. Latiolais, entered the intersection and was struck broadside by an eastbound, 2008 Ford Expedition, driven by thirty-one year old Skyla Menard of Eunice, La. Latiolais was pronounced dead at the scene and Menard and five children in the Ford Expedition were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the crash. Alcohol/Drug use is unknown at this time. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
