| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Impaired Driver Checkpoint April 21, 2009 In an effort to reduce the amount of fatality and serious injury crashes, Louisiana State Police - Troop I and the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct an Impaired Driver Checkpoint within Iberia Parish. The checkpoint will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2009, between the hours of 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. All drivers that travel through the checkpoint will be screened for alcohol and drug impairment. Any driver that is impaired will be removed from the roadway. This checkpoint is part of the ongoing effort to rid our roadways of impaired drivers and to make the public aware of the dangers of driving while impaired. “Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment!
