State Troopers to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police Troop A, in cooperation with Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Livingston Police Department, Port Vincent Police Department, and French Settlement Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Livingston Parish at LA 16 south of LA 42 in Port Vincent today from 6:00 pm until midnight.

Every year on the highways across the state of Louisiana, people are killed or seriously injured because of impaired drivers. Sobriety checkpoints are effective enforcement tools because they serve as a deterrent to impaired driving. Not allowing impaired drivers to get behind the wheel and reporting possible impaired drivers to local police stations can potentially save lives. The public is encouraged to share in the responsibility of keeping impaired drivers from behind the wheel. To report dangerous drivers or hazardous roadway conditions, call *LSP or (*577) from your cell phone.
Alcohol or Drugs, Impairment is Impairment! Drive Impaired, Get Arrested!
