Louisiana State Police – Troop I is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash in Vermilion Parish.
The fatal crash occurred at around 3:00 pm today on LA 333 within Vermilion Parish. Nineteen-year-old Blake Stelly of Abbeville, La, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet truck, northbound on LA 333. Stelly traveled off the right side of the roadway and then over steered to the left, causing the truck to travel off the left side of the roadway as it overturned. The truck then struck a tree and came to rest.
Stelly was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
This was the thirty-ninth fatal crash and the forty-sixth fatality Troop I has investigated thus far in 2009.
