Edmonson, Superintendent November 22, 2009 Thirteen Year Old Killed in Hit and Run Crash Iberia Parish- Shortly after 9:00 pm, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a fatal pedestrian hit and run involving a juvenile on LA 674 east of New Iberia. Killed in the crash was thirteen year old Emile Williams of New Iberia. Williams was wearing dark clothing, and was walking in a dark area at the time of the crash. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner at the scene. According to the investigating troopers from Troop I, on November 21 at around 9:08 pm, Williams was walking west on LA 674. Williams was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling west on LA 674. After striking Williams, the vehicle fled the scene. Williams was later discovered by a passing motorist who called police. The vehicle troopers are looking for should have front end damage, specifically damage to one of the headlights and the windshield.
