Edmonson, Superintendent October 24, 2009 Troopers Arrest St. Martinville Man for Distributing Crack Cocaine St. Martinville- Troopers with the Louisiana State Police, and with the assistance of officers from the St. Martinville Police Department, arrested a St. Martinville man on charges of possession of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine. State Police began their month long investigation, when they were contacted by the St. Martinville Police Department, who was seeking assistance in a crack cocaine distribution case. During their investigation, Troopers made several purchases from the suspect, twenty nine year old Bernard Mitchell III. This led to Troopers obtaining a search warrant for Mr. Mitchell’s residence. On October 23, 2009, Troopers with the assistance of officers with the St. Martinville Police Department, executed the search warrant. During their search, Troopers located 3.1 ounces of crack cocaine in the residence. Troopers also recovered over $1,100.00 in cash, and seized a 2005 Cadillac Deville. Mr. Mitchell was arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail for 5 counts of distribution of crack cocaine, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
