Edmonson, Superintendent October 23, 2009 Two Arrested for Doctor Shopping St. Landry- Yesterday, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Region II Criminal Investigation Division arrested a St. Landry man and his girlfriend for charges of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud. In October 2009, Troopers began an investigation on thirty one year old Devin Acaldo, and his girlfriend twenty nine year old Stephanie Campbell. During the investigation, Troopers learned that Mr. Acaldo, and Ms. Campbell were obtaining the same prescription medication from a doctor in St. Landry Parish, and a doctor in Bossier Parish at the same time. Their investigation indicated that Acaldo and Campbell had been receiving the medication for approximately one year. On October 22, 2009, Troopers served an arrest warrant on both Mr. Acaldo and Ms. Campbell. Mr. Acaldo was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on 14 counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud in Bossier Parish. Ms. Campbell was also booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on 13 counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud in Bossier Parish. At the time of the arrest Mr. Acaldo was employed by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, and was at work when he was arrested.
