| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE May 3, 2010 Walker Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Ascension Parish Prairieville – Louisiana State Police Troop A investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred last night shortly before 8:30 in Ascension Parish on LA 42 west of LA 933. The investigation revealed a 1994 Honda Prelude, being driven by Glynn C. Landry (W/M, age 35) of Walker, was traveling east on LA 42 when it entered a right curve on LA 42 and began to rotate clockwise. The vehicle rotated into the oncoming lane and the driver’s side struck a westbound 1999 Ford Pickup head on. Landry was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office. Landry had one passenger (14 year old white male) in the vehicle who was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup, Chad M. Black (W/M, age 19) of Prairieville, was properly restrained when the crash occurred and sustained only minor injuries. Troopers do not suspect alcohol to have been a factor in the crash. However, Black voluntarily submitted a breath sample to the Intoxilyzer 5000, which showed that he had no detectable alcohol in his system. Black had four passengers in the vehicle with him when the crash occurred. All of the pickup’s occupants were properly restrained and none sustained any serious injuries.
