| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Third Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Four Days BATON ROUGE – The third fatal motorcycle crash in less than a week occurred last night on Burbank Avenue in Baton Rouge when the driver of a Kawasaki ZX-10 was ejected from his bike and into the path of an oncoming vehicle traveling the opposite direction. At 9:10 p.m. last night, April 29, Leverenz Hall (B/M, age 22) of Baton Rouge was driving the newly purchased motorcycle west on Burbank when he entered a right-hand curve and lost control of the motorcycle. Hall fell from the motorcycle into the eastbound lane, and the motorcycle continued west on Burbank and came to rest in the ditch along the north edge (westbound lane) of the road. At the time of the motorcycle crash, a 2005 Chrysler van, being driven by John Aldridge (W/M, age 42), was traveling east on Burbank Avenue. The van struck Hall in the eastbound lane. Hall was pronounced deceased at the scene by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office. Hall was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred, but did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in this crash; however, Troopers have submitted a sample of Hall’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. No charges have been filed in this crash. Contact Information: Tpr Russell G.
