TROOP I NEWS RELEASE Head-On Crash in Acadia Parish Kills One, Leaves One Critical Acadia Parish – Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on October 6, 2020, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a two-vehicle crash on LA Highway 3070 (McCain Road) near Ellis Road in Acadia Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 30-year-old Christopher Guillory of Iota. The preliminary investigation revealed a 1997 Ford F150, driven by Guillory, was traveling north on LA 3070. The driver of the Tacoma was also unrestrained and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and results are pending. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Troopers would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists to always make good decisions while operating motor vehicles. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted. Always ensure every occupant is properly restrained and follow all traffic laws. Taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death. Troop I has investigated 43 fatal crashes resulting in 48 deaths since the beginning of 2020.
