| TROOP I NEWS RELEASE March 13, 2016 Single Vehicle Crash Leaves Unrestrained Driver Dead St. Landry Parish - On March 13, 2016 at 7:53 AM, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on LA 31 at Little Teche Road in St. Landry Parish. The crash took the life of 32 year old Clarence Robins of Opelousas, La.
Impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, however; toxicology samples were obtained from Robins and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorist that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Not wearing a seat belt remains the leading cause of death in motor vehicle crashes. Contact Information: | |||
