| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Crash Claims the Life of River Ridge Man BATON ROUGE – Last night at approximately 9:30 p.m., a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler on LA 30 at University Club in East Baton Rouge Parish claimed the life of a River Ridge man. Kenneth Guillot (W/M, age 66) of River Ridge was attempting to make a left turn in his 2006 Toyota Camry from University Club Plantation Road onto LA 30 eastbound when he pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler. Guillot struck the left rear trailer axle with the right front of his vehicle. The Camry rotated in the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on the westbound shoulder of LA 30. Although Guillot was wearing a seatbelt, he was killed in the collision. The driver of the 18-wheeler, Cedric May (B/M, age 31) of Prairieville, was not injured in the crash. Although Troopers did not suspect that May was impaired, he submitted a breath sample to the Intoxilyzer 5000 at Troop A. The results of the test showed that he did not have any alcohol in his system. There were two additional passengers in the Camry, both of whom sustained minor to moderate injuries in the crash. Patricia Guillot (W/F, age 69) of River Ridge and Martha Crochet (W/F, age 71) of Metairie were both injured and transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in this crash. However, State Troopers have submitted a sample of Guillot’s blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.
