Public to Help Guide Enforcement Actions in the Troop A Area

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Police Troop A is pleased to announce its latest public outreach program, called “Operation Troop ‘A’ssist”. This program will allow the Troop A Commander, Captain Frank Ducote, to get a better feel from the Troop A community of problems throughout the area. This is the public’s opportunity to give feedback to troopers regarding problems in the area and to help direct traffic enforcement accordingly. We are asking that you email us regarding a specific location and time that is experiencing significant problems with aggressive driving, speeding, or any other traffic problems of which we need to be aware. “Troop A covers nine parishes and more than 6,000 miles of state and federal highways. Increased input from the motoring public will be a valuable addition to our already proactive enforcement efforts”, says Captain Ducote.

Once a month, Captain Ducote and shift supervisors will pick an area of high concern to the public and assign a group of State Troopers to conduct a variety of enforcement actions in that area. Upon completion, the results of the enforcement efforts will be posted on the Louisiana State Police Troop A web page, at www.lsp.org/troopa.html, where it can be viewed by anyone interested. The email address for Troop A is lspa@dps.la.gov. There is also a link for this email on the Troop A web page.

Louisiana State Troopers are committed to providing professional and courteous service to the citizens that we have sworn to protect and serve. By providing another level of communication and asking that you help in directing some of our efforts, we hope to increase the safety and security of the motoring public. Please remember, that in the event of an emergency, you may contact your local law enforcement by dialing 911 or contacting Troop A by dialing *LSP ( * 577).
