TROOP I NEWS RELEASE March 13, 2015 Troopers Investigating Hit and Run Fatality St. Mary Parish – Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a fatality crash on LA 182 east of Jeanerette. Preliminary investigation revealed 33 year old Kista L. Sedotal of Jeanerette was walking on LA highway 182 and was struck by a westbound pickup truck. After the pickup truck struck Sedotal, it fled the scene traveling west on LA Highway 182. Sedotal was pronounced dead on scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office. Troopers recovered a front right headlight assembly belonging to a Dodge Ram 1500 truck. The Dodge Ram is believed to be white or silver. More evidence is being collected and this case remains active. Troopers are continuing the investigation and urge anyone with further information regarding this incident to contact Troop I at 337-262-5880.
