| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE “Behind the Faces” Makes Students Think BATON ROUGE – Louisiana State Troopers from Troop A have been traveling throughout the Troop A area this week with the “Behind the Faces” show, provided by Motivational Productions, Inc and generously paid for by the Louisiana State Troopers Association and Louisiana Troopers Charities. It is a 45-minute production, shown on three huge screens, totaling 42 feet wide and 10 feet tall. The theme of the production is the importance of choosing friends wisely, making good decisions, and the repercussions of making poor decisions. The program has had an impact, as students have consistently said that it has made them think and evaluate decisions they have made and relationships with friends in which they are involved. By the end of the week, Troopers will have provided the show to nine schools throughout the Troop A area and reached over 6,500 7th through 12th grade students. So far, students from Donaldsonville High, Walker High, East Ascension High, and Lutcher High Schools have benefited from the program. The schedule for the rest of the week follows. · Wednesday – Plaquemine High School – 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Without the generous financial assistance, promotion, and support of the Louisiana State Troopers Association and Louisiana Troopers Charities, it would not have been possible to provide this program to so many students throughout the state. It is only in the Troop A area for this week, but it has been a big hit and Louisiana State Police would like to make the program available again next year.
