| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent TROOP A - NEWS RELEASE Young Woman Killed in Head-On Collision in Ascension Parish BATON ROUGE – A head-on collision at 1:00 a.m. this morning on LA 70 in Ascension Parish claimed the life of a 20-year-old Pierre Part woman. Claire E. Alleman (W/F, age 20) was killed when the 2007 Chevrolet car she was driving west on LA 70 was struck head-on by a 2006 Toyota Tundra, being driven by Randall Ambeau (B/M, age 24) of Geismar. The crash occurred on LA 70 west of LA 22. After the collision, the Chevrolet spun in the roadway and came to rest in the ditch along the south edge of the road. The pickup continued forward, rolled, and came to rest on its roof in the roadway. Both Ambeau and his passenger, Whitney Jones (B/M, age 18) of Thibodaux, were properly restrained during the crash and rollover. They both survived the crash, but sustained minor to moderate injuries. Alleman was also properly restrained, but died as a result of her injuries. Alcohol use is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash, but blood was taken from both drivers and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis. State Police has charged Ambeau with Negligent Homicide, Negligent Injuring, and Driving Left of Center. Ambeau will be booked into the Ascension Parish Jail upon his release from St. Elizabeth Hospital.
