TROOP I NEWS RELEASE Pensacola Florida Man Dies in Acadia Parish Crash Acadia Parish – Shortly before 1:00 am on May 17, 2018, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a fatality crash on Interstate 10 east of LA 91 in Acadia Parish. The crash took the life of 40-year-old Robert Ogren of Pensacola, FL. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Ogren’s vehicle became disabled on Interstate 10 east in the inside lane near milepost 77. Ogren exited his vehicle and began to walk around in the lane of travel. A 2016 Chevrolet Van operated by, 56-year-old Juda Espree of Opelousas was traveling east in the inside lane and struck Ogren with the front left side of the vehicle. Ogren sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office. Espree and eight other occupants in the vehicle were properly restrained and not injured. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this crash, however toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Contact Information: | |||
