| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE May 30, 2016 Motorcyclist Dies in Iberville Parish Crash Grosse Tete, LA – Shortly after 2:00 pm on May 30, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on LA 386 west of LA 77 in Iberville Parish. The crash took the life of 35 year old Ronnie Badon of Maringouin, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Badon was driving his 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on LA 386. For unknown reasons, Badon failed to negotiate a right hand curve and ran off the left side of the roadway. Badon’s motorcycle struck a concrete culvert and ejected him from the motorcycle. Despite the fact that Badon was wearing a DOT approved safety helmet, he sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Iberville Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash but a toxicology sample will be taken from Badon for analysis. Louisiana State Troopers would like to encourage all riders to take an approved motorcycle safety course. These courses teach safe riding practices and help you apply safe riding strategies that can help reduce your chance of injury should a crash occur. Making good choices while riding a motorcycle, such as never driving while impaired and obeying all traffic laws, can often mean the difference between life and death.
