| TROOP I NEWS RELEASE December 25, 2016 Unrestrained Ville Platte Woman Killed in Single Vehicle Crash Evangeline Parish – Shortly after 1:00 am on December 25, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on Le Bois D’arc Road west of US 167 in Evangeline Parish. The crash took the life of 24 year old Allison Gremillion of Ville Platte, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that Gremillion, was operating a 2000 Nissan Maxima eastbound on Le Bois D’arc and ran off the left side of the roadway. Gremillion’s vehicle entered a ditch, struck an embankment and overturned. Gremillion was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected. Gremillion sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene by the Evangeline Parish Coroner’s Office. It is unknown if impairment is a factor in the crash. Toxicology samples were taken from Gremillion and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. While not all crashes are survivable, simply buckling up greatly increases your chances of surviving a crash.
