HEADQUARTERS NEWS RELEASE February 3rd, 2012 LSP Investigations result in Multiple Arrests Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations brought several separate criminal cases to conclusion this past week resulting in arrests across numerous parishes. On January 31st, 2012, Louisiana State Police Narcotic Detectives arrested a Luling resident, Antoinette McGovern (W/F age 30), on three counts of fraudulently obtaining a controlled dangerous substance following an investigation into alleged “Doctor Shopping”. Troopers’ investigation revealed that between July of 2008 and April of 2011, McGovern visited 16 different medical offices receiving the same prescription from multiple physicians. McGovern was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail without incident. Following an investigation into a complaint received from the Permanent General Insurance Company, troopers have arrested Tialonda Magee, (B/F age 24) of Franklinton, LA, on one count of Insurance Fraud. The investigation revealed that in July of 2011, Magee filed a property damage claim stating that her vehicle sustained damage while parked in a Walmart parking lot. Magee explained to investigators that her vehicle was parked in the Walmart lot while she attended a gospel event in Texas with her church group. Upon further investigation, troopers discovered that Magee had changed the alleged date of the incident several times and submitted a damage estimate from a local repair shop that had been conducted on the same date she claimed to be in Texas. Furthermore, the gospel event location in Texas did not exist and Magee’s alleged church group denied knowledge of Magee or the supposed trip. On February 3rd, 2012, troopers arrested Demorrel Warren, (B/M age 31) of Slidell, LA, following an investigation into possible Identity Theft.
