Traffic Stops Leads to Discovery of Cocaine and Two Arrests

BATON ROUGE – A traffic stop lead to two arrests and the discovery of Cocaine with a street value of over $180,000 this morning on Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish. Just after 10:00 am, a Trooper patrolling I-12 eastbound initiated a traffic stop on a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu rental vehicle for a traffic violation. The Trooper spoke with the driver, Roshi Grice (B/M, age 25) of Houston, TX, and his passenger, Kenneth Richardson (B/M, age 27) of Houston, TX. After receiving conflicting stories from the driver and his passenger, the Trooper became suspicious and requested consent to search the vehicle. The driver consented to the search, during which Troopers located over 13 pounds of Cocaine and over $8,000 hidden in the left quarter-panel of the vehicle. Troopers arrested both the driver and his passenger and booked them into the Livingston Parish Jail on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Control Dangerous Substances (Cocaine). Troopers also charged the driver with Improper Lane Use.
